Northwest University Athletics

Olson graduated from Northwest U in 1981 after competing in 4 years of collegiate volleyball and two seasons of basketball at the school. A setter, outside hitter and team captain in volleyball, Olson was a two-time all-conference selection and was named a National Little College Athletic Association First Northwest All-American in her senior year. She was also a member of the inaugural season of women’s basketball at the university and played two seasons for the Eagles.

After graduating, Olson worked in the insurance business while starting her family and volunteering her services daily as the assistant women’s volleyball and basketball coach (1981-1992). She was a faithful volunteer and strong support to the women on those teams and still today holds many close relationships at Northwest University. Rachel and her husband Mark currently reside in the area along with their children.
